MARTINS
WELCOME TO
MARTINS
I wish you all a very warm welcome to Martins House
– we are delighted to have you as part of the Martins
family.
I've been a proud member of the Millfield community
since 2018, and with over 21 years of experience as
a geography teacher, you will find me sharing my
passion for the subject in B Block. My journey at
Millfield has been incredibly rewarding, especially
during my time as Housemaster of Martins since
September 2024 and prior to this as the Assistant
Housemaster of Acacia between 2021-24.
I reside in Martins with my wife Anika, our two
amazing children, Orlagh and Freddie, and our dog
Houdini (who can often be found trying to visit the
girls in house). Beyond my teaching and Housemaster
responsibilities, I coach girls’ football and tennis.
As a passionate runner, I achieved a personal
milestone by completing the Ironman 70.3 in
Jönköping last summer. This experience not only
tested my endurance but also reinforced my
commitment to personal growth and perseverance.
Martins House opened in September 1998 and was
named after the retiring Headmaster Christopher
Martin. It boasts an excellent position in the centre of
campus and has its own large garden. The garden is
a great social space for the girls, alongside one large
common room and a kitchen area. The house office
is a great place to sit and chat and provides a space
for small groups to study. This is also the base for our
house managers who are available to support the girls
throughout the day. It is a large and unique house with
a homely feel.
