ST ANNE'S
LETTER FROM
THE LOWER SIXTH
Before we joined St Anne’s, we underestimated how quickly we would
forge friendships and settle in. The Lower Sixth induction camp in
Dorset was a great chance to bond with our new housemates and get to
know each other. We were both quickly put at ease by the welcoming
nature of the existing boys, and the enthusiasm of our Housemaster, Mr
Stokes, our lovely house manager Tina and of course our brilliant chef
Tim!
One of the highlights of life at St. Anne’s is the wide array of activities
available. Personally, some of our favourite activities include playing
pool and darts in the common room, where tournaments often take
place. We also enjoy playing football on our football pitch and tennis
and basketball on the floodlit hardcourt. We have also enjoyed frequent
house trips such as watching rugby matches in Bath, bowling, and paint
balling.
Of course, after a day filled with lessons and sport, sometimes all
you want to do is relax. That’s where our cozy common room comes
in. Equipped with a large TV and plenty of comfortable sofas, it’s the
perfect spot to relax with friends and catch up on your favourite shows
or movies, or play some FIFA.
One of the things that sets St. Anne’s apart is the sense of community.
Being an off-campus house, we eat dinner together five days a week
in our dining hall which is a great time to catch up with friends, and is
in our opinion a massive bonus to off campus living. There is never a
feeling of missing out on campus activities, with frequent and timely
shuttle buses every 30 minutes.
Overall, we couldn’t imagine a better place to be, and massively
recommend off campus living. Also, one last tip from us, bring a
mattress topper and a spare pillow to make your bed extra comfy!
Thanks for reading, and we hope to see you soon!
