KINGWESTON
K I N G W E S T O N
LETTER FROM
A LOWER SIXTH
Joining a new boarding house can feel overwhelming at first -
I certainly felt that way before coming to Kingweston. However,
from my very first day, I realised just how special and welcoming
our house truly is. I’m Alex, and ever since becoming part of
Kingweston, I've loved the unique atmosphere, friendships, and
camaraderie that makes our house stand out.
One of the things that helped me settle quickly was the Weston
Rangers Superleague. These team competitions, ranging from
football matches to creative house challenges, immediately
connect you with boys of all ages. Being part of a Superleague
team creates an instant bond and helps you feel involved right
from the start. I found that within days, any nerves I'd had were
replaced by excitement and confidence, thanks to the enthusiastic
support and encouragement from everyone around me.
Kingweston also offers a fantastic variety of activities, meaning
there’s always something exciting happening. Whether it’s
playing golf on our own golf course, football in the garden, tennis
matches, or even indoor games like snooker or table tennis, the
opportunities to socialise and have fun are endless. It’s these daily
interactions and shared experiences that create lasting friendships
and memories.
To new boys joining us, my best advice is to dive right in—there’s
absolutely no need to feel anxious. We’ve all been in your shoes,
and we’re here to help you settle in. The senior boys, especially,
understand what it’s like to be new and are always willing to offer
support, guidance, or just a friendly chat. So please, don’t hesitate
to ask us anything.
Most importantly, Kingweston isn’t just a place you live during
term time; it quickly becomes your second home - a place where
you’ll make lifelong friends, create lasting memories, and become
part of a family.
Alex
