The Eye meets the Ear
The Eye meets the Ear concert was one of the first
events post Covid and it was good to see the pupils
from a range of age groups, getting stuck in and
responding to the music with paint and colour.

Clay Carving Workshop
Year 8 Pupils had a fun clay carving workshop,
making a Barbara Hepworth style clay sculpture 03
which they later used to inspire them to draw from
and to carve a shell-like form from stone.
They used their clay sculpture as a starting point 04
and then allowed the carving process and the
stone to influence form.

We have looked at a range of artists during the
course of the year and learned a range of new
techniques before the pupils started their own
independent project. They came out with some
fantastic pieces of work and learned to make their
own creative decisions.

Year 7 have enjoyed working from the figure and
getting to grips with portraiture. Year 6 were
getting close to nature and making a study of the
pond in oil pastels, whilst also producing fantastic
work looking at apples and bottles.
