INTRODUCTION
Ifugao State University (IFSU) is envisioned to be a globally recognized
University upholding excellence amidst rich cultural heritage. To facilitate the
achievement of the vision, the faculty needs to be strengthened and equipped with
knowledge and skills to transform the students into quality and competitive
graduates with competencies equitable to graduates of premier universities who are
responsive to the demand of time.
IFSU has its own Faculty Development Program compliant to the provisions
of RA 7722, the Rationalization Program of College, prevailing rules of the Civil
Service Commission, the IFSU-PRAISE (Program on Awards and Incentives for
Service Excellence) and CHED Memo #43, s.2015 re Consolidated Implementing
Guidelines of the Higher Education Development Program, and in pursuance of the
College’s aim to opportunities as is spelled out in the BOT Resolution No. 625, series
of 2002, the program was modified to include benefits and other policies to motivate
the faculty and administrative personnel to pursue endeavors towards enhanced
professional development.
The faculty are being provided with trainings and seminars either through in-
house and/or external to keep the faculty abreast with the current development in
various fields of discipline. For this purpose, the Institution allocates sufficient
funds from the Special Trust Fund and General Fund for the Program.
Scholarship and study grants are availed by the faculty either through IFSU
and other institutions such as CHED, DOST, and DA. But to prevent inbreeding,
scholars are directed to enroll in graduate programs of reputable schools outside
the Province with better accreditation or level than IFSU. Likewise, the scholars are
directed to have their graduate studies vertical to their undergraduate degree.
Furthermore, membership to professional organization, development and
production of research and instructional materials, availment of sabbatical leave,
and rewards or entitlement system are the areas of development for faculty
members
