Our Year 7 Science students began exploring the topic of forces by engaging in a set of multi-modal activities. From designing parachutes for toys and experimenting with rare-earth magnets to interacting with computer simulations and virtual-reality experiences, our students had many opportunities to develop their curiosity and understanding.
There was some egg-citement in Week 7 as our Year 7 Science students tested the crash carts they designed and built, to keep an egg intact during a collision. Many eggs were scrambled but some were speggtacularly protected by the creative designs!
We commend our Year 12 Chemistry students who used their science understanding and investigation skills to successfully turn cooking oils into biodiesel! They also worked out a way to test which type of cooking oil could be used to create an alternative fuel with safer and more environmentally friendly emissions.
