PIE, CAKE, CHILI & COOKIES CONTEST

RULES
Cook-Off events are for amateurs only…no professionals.
There are no categories or age groups for the Cake Bake-Off, Chili Cook-Off or Pie
Contest. All contestants entering will compete against one another. There will be age
divisions for the Mayor’s Choice Cookie Bake-Off.
All recipes must be made from scratch… pre-packaged mixes will not be awarded
premiums.
Only one entry per participant per event. No team entries.
Exhibitor must be present to win.
If any rules are not followed, contestant will be disqualified.
Registration for all cooking contests are at the Agricultural Exhibit Hall. Cookie Bake-Off
open to youth in grades 3-12. Judged on appearance,
texture, and flavor. A dozen cookies should be arranged on a serving platter. This year’s
cookie will be Sugar Cookie with no icing.
CAKES AND PIES
Will be judged on appearance, texture, taste and recipe difficulty. This year’s cake will be
a Pound Cake with no icing. And the Pie will be a Chocolate Meringue Pie with cooked
icing.
CHILI
Will be judged on appearance, texture and taste. Temperature of chili at judging must
read 140˚ F. Crockpots are the preferred container. No garnishes or condiments allowed.
ENTERING THE COOK-OFF CONTESTS
All entries must be registered and in place prior to the judging. After the judging begins,
no other entries will be accepted. Bring entries to the Agriculture Exhibit Hall for
registration.
Entries can only be received on specified day and time listed in Daily Schedule of Events.
There are no entry fees and no team entries.
