Math and Science (Grades 5-8)
Ms. Hopkins Says….
We have had an awesome year in middle school Math and Science. We had our first real biology class. We dissected hearts, kidneys, brains, eyeballs and ended the course with the dissection of a fetal pig! The students got a
real hands-on learning experience and got a chance to teach the younger students what they had learned. We enjoyed field trips to Tokeh, Guma Dam and the Biodiversity and Renewable Energy Learning Center. We had our
first STEAM Fair which had a focus on ways to improve Freetown. The students thought of interesting and relevant topics and showed their scientific knowledge. The Entrepreneurship Fair gave the students a chance to
experience owning and marketing a business.
In addition to all of the great things we did, we also had to say goodbye to good friends this year. We celebrated the promotions of Akeem, Marina, Victoria and Sheena. Best wishes to you all as you begin your high school
career! To all of those moving on to another location, we will never forget you and wish the best in all of your future endeavours.
