What are we Made of?

Water.
It is the soul of our beings.
The true life-giving substance,
Keeping our hearts beating,
And souls greeting,
The amazon,
The life it flourishes with,
Has water, in devastating amounts.
Too much, too little,
Too contaminated.
Any step, any direction,
Water is our key.
For the poor kids who drink contaminated water,
For the women carrying gallons of the best water, they see fit,
It may seem small,
Or rather innate,
A change must be made.
But it keeps our hearts beating,
And souls greeting.
In countries other than my own,
And countries I see sown,
I see the water to which they have none.
Unfiltered, it is creating loss.
In counties other than my own,
And countries I see sown,
I see the need for help,
And the need for ideas.
Any step, any direction,
Water is our key.
Make a change,
Any step, any direction,
Water is our key.
When I look out into the horizon,
I feel as though we take our water for granted.
Swishing, swaying,
The ocean beneath us is decaying.
We all need it to survive and thrive,
And keep our hearts beating,
And our souls, truly greeting.
The future is in our hands.
We must remember,
Water keeps our hearts beating,
And souls greeting.
