They had a terrific dinner that night. Tom had been experimenting with French recipes again. He had prepared a whole fish, boned, poached and seasoned it, then placed it in a case of puff-pastry exactly the same shape as the fish - it even had little pastry scales and stripy fins. It was served with cucumbers stuffed with spinach, sautéed mushrooms and fried turnips.
‘This is so weird, but Yum-Oh!’ said Charles.
