This months edition of Miami Spotlight lands on local Miami legends and Space nightclub residents, Adam Cruz and Christian Diaz aka COCODRILLS.
Energetic and driven hip-hop influenced party music.
When preparing for sets do you have any rituals?
Chris: A nice stretch. Adam: Nothing really out of the ordinary.
Do you feel house and techno music should have never left the underground clubs or do you embrace the large festival movement?
We're aware of the pitfalls of music commercialization, however, we both agree that growth is positive as long as integrity is not sacrificed.
With the explosion of EDM across the globe it’s very easy for talented producers to bite into that big money and make commercial tracks and remixes. What has kept you 2 grounded and focused on staying true to your sound and message throughout this period?
Standing firm with our sound was always easy because it's what we truly believe in. We would never change for a venue/promoter/production request.
Regardless, we didn't get into this for the money.
There’s’ a lot of remixes and remakes of the “classics” in house and Techno. In your sets do you prefer to stick more to the grass roots originals, play your own renditions or the try out new remixes!
We're fans of the past, present and future. You'll get a little bit of everything with our sets.
Do you guys embrace all the new technology that constantly introduced to Djing and production or do you prefer to work with specific equipment and stick to it?
We embrace the technology and are constantly experimenting with new gear to add to our arsenal!
What’s the one piece of equipment you guys cannot live without?
Chris: It would be hard for me to choose one, as all of my gear is an important piece of the puzzle. My main weapon of choice, however, is Traktor Pro.
Adam: Native Instruments Maschine is my go-to for studio work and live shows.
We chat with them about their local rise, from starting their own parties at venues like Electric Pickle and Treehouse to working with the likes of Ghostface Killah and P.Diddy to their now coveted residency at Globally recognized Space nightclub! And that's just beginning....

When did you guys first meet and what got you into DJ'ing?
We both grew up on South Beach and always had similar interests. We were randomly introduced at a party about 10 years ago and the mutual love of music is what brought us to start this endeavor.
Which came first Djing or production? Chris: DJ'ing
Adam: Production How would you describe your sound
and shows?
