Dear Gala Attendees:
As you know, I am a strong champion for the Texas Historically Underutilized Business program
and other programs that advocate for the inclusion of minority businesses and suppliers in Texas'
procurement process at every level. That is why, I'm delighted to have the opportunity to
welcome all in attendance to the Dallas/Fort Worth Minority Supplier Development Council's
2016 E Awards.
I wholeheartedly recognize the importance of entities like yourself that serve as conduits for
inclusion. I also relish the relations that I have with you and your peer organizations so that I'm
kept abreast of the concerns that arise in your respective industries. This relationship also
affords me the opportunity to be made aware of the effectiveness and deficiencies of related
programs and receive feedback on how we can improve the process.
