A Strategic Initiative to Recognize
Commitment and Best Practices That
Deliver Real Results in the Engagement of
Minority Owned Businesses in the Supply

Chain

BUT THOSE THAT BUY USTM is a Dallas/Fort Worth
Minority Supplier Development Council (D/FW MSDC)
strategic initiative designed to positively recognize
commitment and best practices in the utilization and
engagement of minority owned businesses in the supply chain. The goal is to
identify those Buying Entity Partners that are committed to minority business
engagement in their supply chain and that are willing to share their results and best
practices with others. BTTBUTM focuses on results and the processes that help
achieve results in the supplier diversity field. Each Buying Entity Partner recognized
by the initiative completes and submits a scorecard outlining their minority business
spend results in the North Texas area. In addition, they are required to provide a
narrative summarizing at least one best practice that helped them achieve their
spending results.

2016 BUY THOSE THAT BUY USTM Best Practices
Part of the BUY THOSE THAT BUY USTM initiative recognizes buying entities and their
best practices that achieve real results. . An MBE panel reviews submitted responses
to seven best practice areas and determines the “Best-in-Class” practices and
examples of ensuing results to be recognized by the BTTBU initiative. The key
factors in evaluating and choosing the 2016 best practices were the following:

Ÿ The Best Practice contained examples of real results with D/FW MSDC
certified MBEs.

Ÿ The Best Practice was viewed as innovative, unique and/or forward thinking.
The eleven Buying Entity Partners recognized for their Best Practices and one Buying
Entity Honorable Mention are:
