 LINGUISTICALLY ISOLATED HOMES
Moreover, many households are linguistically isolated from the community of service providers around them. Among one of
the most significant barriers to engagement and service is a lack of language resources for families that speak languages not prevalent in the communities in which they live. This isolation may extend not only to services, but also to their ability to connect with protective factors within their local area. Knowing what languages
are needed in your community, engaging community partners proficient in those languages, and expanding outreach and awareness to linguistically isolated community members can open vital services up to every child and family.
