TRANSPORTATION BARRIERS
The average commute time in Ohio is 20-25 Minutes, according to the Ohio Department of Transportation. Ideally, essential services should be available within a comparable time throughout
the state. This is, of course, not the case, especially in rural and resource-poor areas.
This burden is further increased when households have no vehicle. While those living in urban areas may be able to access public transportation options, these often are time consuming, and act as
a barrier as well. Furthermore, financial burden from public transport may not be a viable option. In rural areas, it may not be an option at all.
