14. Ambush Checks

          During the year 2020-21, up to February-2021, total 163 Ambush checks have been
          conducted along with RTA officials at various manned Level crossings.  About 1355
          road users were counselled during the checks.

          15. Disaster Management:

          Disaster Management boards in bi-lingual were updated and numbers are regularly
          checked by SMs/SS/TIs and Officers during their inspections.

          16. Gradation:

          Gradation of all Safety Category Staff was evaluated as per the stipulated guidelines
          of Railway Board. Continuous monitoring is being done by Officers/Supervisors to
          upgrade the staff categorized as B, C & D.


          17. Action plan to curb accidents

          The following steps are taken in order to reduce accidents on the division.

          1.     Intensive counseling of staff
          2.     Conducting Safety Seminars.
          3.     Launching Safety Drives.
          4.     Issuing Safety Circulars and General Circulars.
          5.     Safety Literature (Fly Leaf, Vigil, Monthly/Bi-monthly Bulletins etc.)
          6.     Safety meeting at stations through Rule of the month for the benefit of the staff.
          7.     Conducting Night Surprise Inspections.
          8.     Public awareness campaign.
          9.     Monitoring of Refresher Course & Periodical Medical Examination.
          10.  Conducting weekly Safety Audit meeting with DRM, ADRM & Branch Officers, discussing all
                 the safety related issues. The deficiencies pointed out during the meeting/action required to
                 implement the safety measures are monitored and compliance is ensured.
          11.  Conducting  safety  audit  inspections  by  divisional  JA  grade  officers  at  major  stations  and
                 activity centers.
          12.  Conducting Mock drills.
          13.  Conducting ambush checks throughout the division.
          14.  Distribution of Pamphlets on Prevention of Fire Accidents and Safety at LC.
