Mid UK Recycling Driver Risk Assessment & Safe System of Work

Compactors:

All drivers working and operating with roll on and roll off bins and vehicles must read

understand and sign the RO-RO operations Safe System Of Work (SSOW) sheet.

1. All bins that are to be netted manually MUST be netted at ground level only.

2. Under no circumstances are drivers to climb up the side of bins.

3. Drivers are to be trained in the use of the compactor machine.

4. Under no circumstances are drivers to walk behind the doors of the bin whilst opening them

prior to tipping.

5. Before compactor bins taken onto the road the driver must check that the contents of the bin

are all secure.

6. Before bins are netted and loaded the driver must check that the contents of the bin are all

secure.

7. All drivers are to wear the relevant Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). RASSoW08Q

8. If any driver is in any doubt as to their SSOW you must ask your line manager to explain it RO-RO Lorry Operations

further.
