Mid UK Recycling       Driver Risk Assessment & Safe System of Work



     Important NOTES on Skips to Drivers:                                   (Page 1 of 3)



        The drivers MUST conduct the risk assessment on arrival at a customer

             premises to prevent any injury or damage.

        Three points of contact should be made when exiting / Entering the

             vehicle.
        Drivers MUST ONLY use the provided manufactures steps, foot holds, and hand holds on

             the vehicle if they are to climb onto the vehicle.

        Drivers are reminded that they are NOT to use saws, crowbars, or additional tools to cut

             protruding objects away from the skip (prior to loading the skip) if the net does not fit

             over the load. Contact the transport office.

        When carrying 3 or more empty skips you MUST use a Ratchet strap over the centre.

        Any damaged skips identified by drivers must be phoned through to the office manager

             for plans to be made to have them repaired.


                              All damaged nets are to be reported to the office.

                              The driver must NOT climb onto skips to net up.                                                                                                 RASSoW 09Q

                              When manually netting up a skip, the driver is to ensure the
