Important NOTES on Skips to Drivers: (Page 2 of 3)
All nets are to be fully secured to the vehicle when the skip is
loaded. Use bungie cord.
The driver must take caution when stacking skips from the vehicle.
If skips do get stuck together whilst picking up a skip from a stack
DO NOT use any implement that is not issued by the company such as bars, hammers,
or poles to separate the skips apart. Contact the office.
When stacking skips the driver MUST bear in mind about the driver who may collect that skip.
Never stack a skip in any other manner than the way you would expect to find a skip yourself.
The driver must NOT leave a skip on the main road without flashing lights, and a minimum of 2
traffic cones and a PERMIT.
Any damaged skips identified by drivers must be phoned through to the office ASAP.
The driver must ensure that chains are connected to the
skip lugs correctly so that they do not come off prior to lifting.

When chains are removed from skip lugs then they need to

be removed in a way which keeps hands/fingers clear of any
pinch points, securely placed into their housing on the vehicle
