P. 14

It shames me that I abandoned you and your mom in 1971. Me running away
again. I cheated on your mom on more than one occasion, and of course, you know

this. Never any fault of your mom. This time I ran away to Florida. Took all my

behavioral problems, faults, and sins with me.

Your mom never asked anything of me and never would let anyone attack my

character. For some reason, she has never had anything wrong to say about me that

                                                        I am aware.

She made sure that you knew me as your father without any blame. How

wonderful is that? The next time you and I met was at your Grandad’s funeral in

                                                        75. We spent much time together in three days. I found it difficult leaving you. But
now you have a new dad, a friend of both your mom's and mine. Oliver was the

pharmacist that Linda had worked with for several years. Married and had three

more children. I met Quentin, the oldest, and WOW, a talented guitarist. He must
have inherited his musical skills from his father. Listened to Oliver play keyboards

one weekend. Just as impressive as Quentin's guitar.

How very blessed you and your mom have been not having me in your lives.
Perhaps that's the reason your mom never asked anything of me.
