The young man did as the pastor suggested and soon felt the
hold his sin had on him diminish, then fade away completely.
Relational holiness—loving Jesus more than sin—sets you free!
Both pray for one another and read Ro-
mans 13:14. Memorize this verse.
How can I pray for you?
You and your discipler have just cov-
ered a lot of ground together.
Pause to pray for one another—that what you’ve discussed will sink
deeply into your hearts and minds.
Heart and Mind
There’s great value planting God’s Word deep into your heart and
mind.
Consider memorizing this passage:
“Rather, clothe yourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ, and do not
think about how to gratify the desires of the flesh” (Romans 13:14).
Confession
Stretch During one day in the next week, be aware
Activity when you are tempted. It could be thinking in an

impure way, getting mad, feeling discouraged, hav-
ing shame, or even wanting something that you
shouldn’t have.
In the midst of temptation, do the following …
• Repeat Romans 13:14.
• Look to heaven and pray, “Jesus, I love you more than this
temptation.”
