Delta Lifeboat (2B-02)
The Delta Lifeboat (formerly the
Steveston Lifeboat) now based in Ladner, Length: 15.85m (52’),
has a long history of rescue operations in Beam: 3.89m (12.75’)
British Columbia. Designed as an Draught: 1.52m (5’)
admiral's barge, she was build in Pearl Construction: Wooden Hull,
Harbour in 1944. Following naval Aluminium Superstructure
service , she passed into private hands
and was modified for use as a Engine: Detroit Diesel 671, 57 hp
recreational vessel. Her life saving Performance: 10 kn max, 9 kn
career began in 1988, when a new owner cruise
updated her for a role in maritime search Range: 1,000 nm
and rescue. For many years she Complement: 7 crew
operated out of Steveston Harbour, Tender: 3.35m (11') RHIB with
working in support of the fishing industry 20 HP outboard
and other maritime activities in the Fraser First Aid: AED, oxygen and
estuary and the Gulf of Georgia. During comprehensive first aid kit
this period, she was involved in many
rescue operations. While still registered Fire Fighting: Portable pump for
as the Steveston Lifeboat, major repair fires or de-watering, plus
