               Mother did my hair like every morning, like every
               evening. She liked to see them loose, curly and long.
               We were not allowed to go out with our hair loose. It
               was an offense, according to Law 5, considered an act
               of rebellion. “Mom, I have exactly the same hair as
               you, long, curly and white”. “Yes, because practically
               everyone in the city had snow-white hair. We were
               good in history. We were the good ones in history.
               We  were  humans.  Except  for  some,  after  the
               membership ceremony.” “I know. But yours seem ...
               different.”  And  that  was  always  what  she  said.
               However, I had silky white hair like her. I had the
               same black skin color as her. The same black eyes.
               She put the comb in its place and turned my chair
               over so that I was in front of her. “Iwa, everything
               will be fine. I'm sure it's not the last time we'll meet.
               You are so human. You are human. I am human, your
               father  is  human.”  She  gave  me  a  smile  that  was
               almost forced, as if she was trying to convince herself.
