Parameter F- Administrative Support for Effective Instruction
1. SYSTEM- INPUTS AND PROCESSES
➢ Present and/ or cite policies on substitution or special arrangement whenever a faculty is on leave or
on official business/time
As reflected in the administrative manual of university, a faculty who is on leave/official business or
illness, the Dean through the recommendation of the department chairman will assign faculty to handle the
subject in the absence of the faculty concern.
➢ Present and /or cite policies on supervision / monitoring and evaluation of faculty performance
The school administrator ensures that a favourable milieu is offered to students and teachers alike for
an effective teaching and learning process.
Graduate school activities are well supported by administrators, faculty and non-teaching staff. Order
and discipline in the school and classroom are highly maintained.
In line with the attainment of the goals and objectives of the College, the Department Chairs conduct
class observation of faculty using the standard evaluation form for instruction to determine the effectiveness
of the faculty.
The observation of classes is done by the Dean and Department Chairmen which maybe
unannounced or scheduled within the semester. Post conference with the faculty is conducted to identify
the strengths and weaknesses for better and more effective teaching. Spot checks on the conduct of
classes are also periodically conducted by the Dean and Department Chairs to monitor attendance of
faculty to classes.
Below are strategies employed by administrators and teachers to ensure favorable climate
Conducting Orientation Program for graduate students to familiarize students with policies,
rules and regulation
Involving stakeholders such as faculty, graduate students alumni, etc. In the development and
revision of curriculum
Offering scholarship grants to the employee of the University pursuing advance education to
graduate school
Facilities of the school are annually checked by the supply office of the University
2. IMPLEMENTATION
➢ Described the system of supervision of faculty performance
Periodic evaluation of faculty is being conducted using the Individual Performance Commitment and
Review (IPCR) forms for clients (students), peer, self and subordinate to determine teaching effectiveness.
The school administrator ensures that a favourable milieu is offered to students and teachers alike for an
effective teaching and learning process.
School activities are well supported by administrators, faculty and non-teaching staff. Order and discipline
in the school and classroom are highly maintained.
