3. Sew the Single Rows from step 1 to either side of the “W” and sew the pair to the right side of the “A” block. See Figure 2 for proper layout.

State Block Assembly
NOTE: If you don’t have a state block, skip Step 1 through 3. Then make an extra pair set for a total of 3 sets (6 rows) instead of 2 sets (4 rows) in Step 4.
1. Sew the center rows of Background blocks. Make [4] horizontal rows of [5] blocks each. Press all the seams.
2. Sew the [4] rows into 2 sets of pairs. Press the seams. Each pair set should measure 20-1/2” W 3 8-1/2” H.
3. Sew the State Block B between the two horizontal pairs made in Step 12. Press the seams. This section should measure 48-1/2” W 3 8-1/2” H. See Figure 3.
