FOREWORD

Stephen Covey’s Seven Habits of Highly Effective People has inspired this

book, which is collection of blogs written by me over 5-6 years for the benefit

of all defence aspirants. My experience of 29 years in the Indian Army (in-

cluding 2 years as Deputy President of 17 SSB) and about 5 years spent in

guiding numerous students have shaped the ideas promoted in this book.

The idea of creating this book came from Raj. He has played a major role in

the compilation of this book. I thank him. I also thank Satyendra and Bahmi-

ni for their help in giving the book the final shape.

I thank Shalini, my wife, and Shikhar, my son for supporting the whole idea

of No Frills Academy as well of this book.

I thank my parents for the ideas promoted in this book because without their

liberal upbringing I would not be what I am.
