                         USE THIS GUIDE?




            The primary intention of going to a coaching academy or reading a guide

            such as this is because you have found some inadequacy in yourself that is

            preventing your successful recommendation by an SSB. Keeping this inade-

            quacy in mind, the first chapter of this guide contains a number of carefully


            and  deliberately  handpicked  personality  development  essays  and  articles

            which will take you on a tour of self-analysis and instruction. The content has

            been chosen after years of study, practice, and experimentation in various

            capacities as a soldier, leader, and SSB selector. From taking full responsibili-

            ty of yourself  and your life to the productive and effective utilisation of you

            time, the fist chapter covers it all. Do not skip it, for a building is only as

            strong as its foundation!





            Once the strong foundation is built, you can move forward to the subsequent

            chapters. Each of them deal with certain SSB specific factors. You will see
