you want to learn something from me. You are not there to learn from
those who are commenting on the video. A lot of people, in their bid
to stand out or gather importance, go on to make comments on
videos deliberately. These comments are genuinely against the
nature of the talk, and they may create confusion in your mind. A lot
of time you will also start commenting hoping to gain some
importance; you should be bothered about what the teacher is
saying, and not about the other students.
You should follow a maximum of two teachers to learn any subject.
There is so much content on the internet today that you may get lost.
You will not be able to generate confidence if you follow a lot of
channels; you will always think that you missed out on something.
You should also analyse a teacher before following him—if any
teacher talks about unnecessary things, then you should not follow
him. You should also watch videos on full screen; if you will watch on
portrait or half screen mode then ‘suggested videos’ will keep
popping up and you will not be able to concentrate.
Whenever you are watching a video online, you must think that you
have been allowed to watch it only once. This way you will watch a
video with all your concentration, because if you think that you can
watch a video whenever you want to, you will not be able to
concentrate. Students concentrate so much on the off-line classes
only because they know that the class will be held only once, and
after that they will be left with no other alternative, no re-play button.
Like in the off-line classes where time is fixed, you should have
similar thoughts when you are online—decide that you will not get up
in between. Self- discipline is a must when it comes to online
classes. Your sitting position while watching a video must be like the
one you have while studying; you should not lie down on a bed or
slouch on the sofa to watch these videos.
You should also not be inclined a lot towards entertaining or
sensational videos. Some less-experienced teachers use
sensational thumbnails to attract students. You have to stay away
