Conduct and Performance Liaison Officers (CaPLO) Formerly known as The Discipline Committee We are experienced Federation representatives - constables, sergeants and inspectors ranks - from across the Force. All Conduct and Performance Liaison Officers (CaPLO) have received specialist training in the Police Misconduct and Performance Regulations and are able to advise on all aspects of alleged misconduct, gross misconduct or performance issues. We recognise how worrying and stressful it can be when officers are under investigation, and we are here to support and help them through the process. We strongly advise that any member served with Regulation notices informing them there is an investigation into their actions, should sign the document to accept service but say nothing else. They should then make contact with a CaPLO as soon as possible and they will guide them through the regulatory requirements. If an interview is to take place, a CaPLO will accompany the officer. If the matter being investigated is a criminal matter, the Federation will arrange legal representation. The Federation manages an effective call-out rota, and members will be able to get hold of a trained CaPLO 24 hours a day, every day. The CaPLOs meet once a month to discuss regulatory changes, themes and trends and share experiences. They have a good working relationship with the Professional Standards Department. We are committed to giving members the very best advice and service. Please contact us if you have any questions or queries. Sarah Stevens-Burns, CaPLO Secretary 13
