Mixing Tools: Heat-safe bowls, a stick blender,
and spatulas.
Scale: For precise measurements of ingredients.
Thermometer: To monitor the temperature of oils
and lye solution.
Safety Precautions:
Protective Gear: Always wear gloves, safety
goggles, and long sleeves to protect skin and eyes
from lye burns.
Ventilation: Work in a well-ventilated area to
avoid inhaling lye fumes.
Lye Handling: Add lye to water, never the reverse,
to prevent dangerous splashing or a chemical
reaction.
Temperature Control: Monitor the temperature
of your lye and oils to ensure they’re within the
recommended range when mixed.
Storage: Keep lye and finished soap out of reach of
children and pets.
Cleaning: Use dedicated tools for soap making and
clean up spills immediately.
