Annual Basket Party
On Sunday, September 7, 2025, the St. Ann’s Guild
of the parish held their Annual Basket Party with over
170 baskets and specialty prizes. This fundraiser will
support repairs to the church bells. Thank you GCU
for the Parish Matching Funds and to all those who
supported the event.

The Turianyn family along with Janet Winwood presented Fr. Brian
Norell from St. Mary Church in Weirton with a $3,000. GCU Match-

ing Funds check. The check was from the parish’s Lenten/Easter Food
Sale. Presenting Father Brian with the check is Violetta Turianyn. St.
Mary’s church community would like to thank the GCU for supporting
our parish projects.

Biannual Eastern European Ethnic
Foods Sale
Traditional Byzantine Easter foods
made from scratch were available
for purchase as a fundraiser for
the Cathedral Parish. The sale
included Pascha bread, fruit/nut rolls,
Byzantine chocolate crosses and
a variety of pirohi. These items are
delicious and offer everyone a taste Check Presentation
of our traditional Easter foods. Thank A GCU Parish Matching Funds check from
you GCU Parish Matching Funds for the bake sale was given to Fr. Michael
adding to the sales success. Mandelas, pastor at St. Stephen. He was
so excited to receive it. This was the first
time he received a GCU Matching Funds
check on behalf of his parish! Thank you
GCU for your programs that help all of our
churches.
