Dear Friends,

It is my great honor to welcome you to Cartoon
Classics! This afternoon is particularly special for me,
as I step into the role of Executive Director. I began as
Office Manager in August 2017 and served as Director
of Operations since December 2020. Over these
years, I have witnessed firsthand the incredible power
of music to bring people together, and I am thrilled to
continue this journey with all of you.

This season, we celebrate the theme Better Together, a sentiment that resonates
deeply within our orchestra and our community. This afternoon’s program brings
to life some of the most iconic and exhilarating pieces ever composed, including
Rossini’s Overture to The Barber of Seville, Wagner’s Ride of the Valkyries, and John
Williams’ The Duel from The Adventures of Tintin, among many others. These
beloved works have connected generations through their use in animation, film,
and beyond—reminding us of the joy and nostalgia that music can inspire.

We are also delighted to feature Rachel Casavant, winner of the South Shore
Conservatory Concerto Competition, whose exceptional talent will be showcased
in this concert. Our partnership with SSC continues to flourish, further enriching
our musical community and providing invaluable opportunities for young
        musicians.
Beyond the stage, our commitment to community engagement remains
steadfast. We are proud to once again take part in Orchestras Feeding America,
a nationwide initiative that supports local food banks. Through this effort, we
are partnering with the South Shore Community Action Council’s Food Resource
Program to help fight food insecurity in our region. To those of you who have
contributed to this cause, thank you for making a difference.
As we continue this exciting season, I want to express my heartfelt gratitude
to our musicians, staff, board members, and volunteers for their unwavering
dedication. To our generous donors, sponsors, and, of course, to you—our
wonderful audience—thank you for being an essential part of our Philharmonic
family. Your support ensures that we can continue sharing the transformative
power of music for years to come.
Enjoy the concert, and let’s celebrate the magic of music—together!

        With appreciation,

        Kara E. McEachern
        Executive Director
