THE ALDEN BUILDING CAMPAIGN
EXCITEMENT IS BUILDING!
“The Alden Kindred has accepted the charge of preserving the story of our
Pilgrim ancestors and the cultures they interacted with and, making this story
accessible to the residents of our town, and, to the thousands of visitors that come
to Plymouth County each year. This addition will give us a completely ADA-
accessible space to do this using the latest museum technology. It is a fitting
addition to our town’s only National Historic Landmark.”
– J. Alden Keyser, Groundbreaking ceremony for the J. Alden & Virginia E.
Keyser Center for Living History, August 5, 2023.
e have made great progress during the campaign to build the Center for Living
WHistory and are close to accomplishing this part of our program, but there is
much more to the story. We still have work to do to properly tell our story to future
generations. The Alden Building Campaign (ABC) aims to raise $2.3 million to do three
things:
$2,300,000
A – Preserve our Historic Assets by creating a dedicated endowed fund for preservation
of our National Historic Landmark.
$2,000,000
B – Build a two-story addition to the Alden Barn to create the Center for Living History to
share and teach the significance of the Pilgrim story. $1.2 million already raised!
$1,500,000 C – Continue to expand our financial base to meet the capacity building for this next
century by dedicating funds to our Endowment and to retire the mortgage on adjacent
$1.2 million land purchased in 2015, which made this campaign possible.
Please consider sending your gift today. More information about the campaign is posted
$1,000,000
