SPEAK FOR THYSELF
Priscilla by George Boughton A Speak honoree has the same spirit as Priscilla Mullins Alden
and has stood up and made a difference as a pioneer, advocate,
community, or business leader.
Pat Dowd Susie Caliendo Pauline Kezer
peak 2024 was a big success as we honored 4 amazing women. We held a lovely reception for the honorees
Sand their families on April 23rd at the Alden House Historic Site. The Speak for Thyself Awards Dinner was
held on May 15, 2024, at 6:00pm at the Jones River Trading Post in Kingston, MA.
We honored three women with the Speak for Thyself Award; Our very own Pauline Kezer from CT who is our
outgoing President; Community Leader and local real estate agent Susie Caliendo and Community Leader and
Change Maker Pat Dowd, both from Duxbury. We also honored Hannah Stout, a graduating senior at Duxbury
High School, with the Aspiring Priscilla Award for her outstanding community service. We had nine former
Speak Honorees in attendance to celebrate our 2024 inductees. This year our guest speaker was Duxbury Town
Historian, Tony Kelso. He spoke about the importance of our historic site and the new Center for Living History
for the people of Duxbury.
This event is now the most successful Speak event to
date in terms of revenue and attendance, which we are
improving each year! We had 102 and we raised $19,505
with a net profit of $13,387.09, giving us an overhead of 31%
which is within the standard of 35% for non-profit events.
Overall, we had great feedback on the event, and have had
good local coverage. I would like to thank the committee
for their fabulous efforts for the 2024 Speak event: Desiree
Mobed, Mark Jacobson, Pam Campbell Smith, and Emily
Zoltowski.
Respectfully submitted, Anne K. Cobuzzi
