Randall Hodgkinson
Pianist Randall Hodgkinson achieved recognition as a
winner of the International American Music Competition
sponsored by the Rockefeller Foundation. He has appeared
frequently as a soloist with major orchestras including
Boston Symphony Orchestra, Philadelphia Orchestra,
Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, Buffalo Philharmonic
Orchestra, Cleveland Orchestra, New York Philharmonic
Orchestra, and with orchestras in Italy and Iceland. Mr.
Hodgkinson studied at The Curtis Institute and the New
England Conservatory. He obtained his Master of Music
degree with distinction, Artist Diploma, also from NEC.
While a member of Boston Musica Viva, he performed throughout the United States
and Europe and recorded for Nonesuch records. His solo CD Petrouschka and Other
Prophesies received a double five-star rating from the BBC magazine. Other recordings
include a live performance of the world premiere of the Gardner Read Piano Concerto
with the Eastman Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Morton Gould Concerto with the
Albany Symphony. Recently he recorded the complete works for cello and piano of Leo
Ornstein with cellist Joshua Gordon for New World Records. He also performs four-hand
and two-piano literature in duo recitals with his wife, Leslie Amper. He is a member of the
piano faculty of the New England Conservatory and Longy School of Music.
Elijah Langille
Elijah Langille is the Program Director and Chief Conductor
of the SSCYO. He is an avid educator and conductor
throughout Massachusetts, currently teaching Orchestra
at New Bedford High School and is the organist at Christ
Church Parish, Plymouth. He sang with the Tanglewood
Festival Chorus, performing at venues such as Boston’s
Symphony Hall, Carnegie Hall, and the Koussevitzky
Music Shed, under prominent conductors such as Andris
Nelsons, Keith Lockhart, and Bramwell Tovey. He has twice
conducted the Moravian Philharmonic Orchestra in the
city of Olomouc, Czech Republic, studying under prominent
Russian conductor Alim Shakh. He also was a guest conductor with the Parkway
Concert Orchestra in 2018, conducted the Junior SEMSBA Orchestra in 2017, and the
Senior SEMSBA Orchestra in 2016. He studies conducting with Michael Ellis Ingram, the
Korrepetitor, and Kapellmeister of the Mecklenburg State Theater in Schwerin, Germany.
Elijah Langille is a graduate of Boston University and Gordon College.
