Servo drive system improves
productivity during hard times
Beckhoff Automation UK has launched the
AMP8000 servo system. The AMP8000 features
a servomotor with a rear-mounted servo drive for
a reduced size and can provide complex motion
control with minimal cabling requirements. With many factories across the globe having temporarily
closed, industry is struggling to meet demand. Manufacturers need compact, uncomplicated systems
to help maximise productivity. The AMP8000 will find a home on production lines, where its core
technological advantages can help improve profits. Read more here
RSBS Generation 3 soft starter reduces
single phase compressor start current
Carlo Gavazzi has introduced a new robust generation of
RSBS Soft Starts. The RSBS range was the first soft starter
on the market to perform a self-learning algorithm for
smooth soft starting and stopping of pumps. This ensures
optimal starts and stops even under different load conditions and minimises any vibrations. The
third generation RSBS compact single phase compressor offers operation current up to 32 AAC and
can limit currents to 45 AACrms (under balanced conditions) and has a maximum ramp-up time of
600 ms, reducing the compressor starting current by more than 50%. Read more here
Sick SPEEDTEC speed and length
sensor looks but doesn’t touch
With the SPEETEC non-contact sensor for speed and length
measurement, Sick has added a compact, affordable, eye-
safe laser surface motion sensor to its portfolio, able to
measure a wide range of continuous, web-fed or cut-to-length
materials down to a resolution of 4 µm. It combines
affordability with precision surface measurement for process
control and quality inspection tasks, useful for industries as
diverse as printing, textiles, tyre manufacture or building materials production. Read more here
