New Igus elastic double joint proves a
quiet solution for labelling machines
A new elastic double joint from plastics specialist Igus is
proving to be a perfect – and quiet – solution for the
machine building sector. The igubal GPZM coupling joint,
which was officially launched at the end of 2020, is
lubrication-free, maintenance-free and 20% more flexible
than its conventional alternative. Dean Aylott, product manager at Igus UK, said: “This additional
flexibility is due to the use of the new Igus housing material, which ensures the joint’s ball stud
remains firmly enclosed and dirt cannot penetrate into the bearing. Read more here
Sick absolute encoder opens
simple path to safe productivity
Sick has extended its safe encoder offering with
the AFS60S Pro and AFM60S Pro, its first
programmable safe absolute encoders, opening a
simpler and quicker route to safe productivity in
stationery and mobile machinery, together with
seamless integration for safe motion control. The AFS60S Pro (singleturn) and AFM60S Pro
(multiturn) absolute encoders are compact, programmable, high-resolution absolute encoders that
deliver functional safety certified up to SIL3/PLe. Read more here
Kistler launches a new, compact version of its
NCFT joining module with increased stroke
Kistler has developed a new version of its well proven NCFT joining
module with the stroke length increased from 100mm to 250 mm whilst
reducing the overall length of the unit from 548mm to 482mm. This has
been achieved by moving the drive motor from the end of the module to
the side. In all other regards, the new compact version retains all of the
capability of the original, straight version. Both types consist of a robust
housing with an integral piezoelectric tension/compression force sensor
and an absolute encoder integrated in the drive motor for precise positioning. Read more here
