Elegant and fully functional
hand-held enclosures
Hammond Electronics has
launched its new 1552 family of
hand-held enclosures. Initially
available in six sizes, the IP54
rated UL94-V0 flame-retardant
ABS enclosure features an
ergonomic design that fits
comfortably into the hand, enabling it to be used for long period in
applications such as a machine controller or an electric hoist control. The
end panels are removable for easy modification, and for use with flying
cables, an alternative end panel with an integral rubberised cord protector
and a strain relief bracket is available. An optional wall mounted holder
allows the unit to be stored in a convenient location when not in use.

Standard components for
audio visual equipment
Elesa is pleased to offer a selection of
standard components to aid
manufacturers of audio visual
equipment and their ancillary mounting
systems. In particular, clamping,
indexing and levelling are core
elements in the successful operation of
AV equipment, which are directly addressed by the Elesa range. Clamping
operations are facilitated by the GN 300 series of adjustable handles, and
those with torque amplifier distance bushing allow greater efficiency in
obtaining required clamping force. The allied function of indexing is covered
with the Elesa RDB series toothed clamping elements, which permit a
simple fix, release and re-fix indexing adjustment.Levelling is enabled by
the Elesa BEL series of bull’s eye and bar style levels.

Micro gearheads from Maxon offer
great power in a compact form
Maxon has developed a unique upgrade in the
form of a new product series for its standard micro
gearhead. In the new GPX planetary gearhead in the UP series,
a technical repositioning means that the planetary wheels, which in
traditional planetary gearheads are on plain bearings directly on the
carrying axle, are now sited above the ball- or needle bearings. If we take
a GPX32 UP in three-stage construction as an example, then a maximum
efficiency of around 90% can be achieved. Maxon says comparable
miniature gearheads achieve around 70%.
