Servotecnica slip ring assemblies
now available from Mclennan
Mclennan has agreed a partnership agreement with
Servotecnica to market and support the Italian
manufacturer’s comprehensive range of slip ring
assemblies in the UK and France. The ability to supply
slip ring assemblies as components or as part of its
motion systems integration service will boost Mclennan’s capability to fulfil those applications where
transmission of electrical power, instrumentation and communications signals needs to be managed
from stationary to rotating platforms. Read more here
IFM sensor simplifies condition monitoring
IFM Electronic has launched a new multi-function vibration sensor
that provides a comprehensive real-time condition monitoring
solution for electric motors and other simple machines. Benefits
include cost-effective continuous monitoring of equipment, early
warning of potential problems, elimination of unnecessary routine
maintenance and reduced downtime. The compact VVB001
sensor, which is readily fitted to existing machines thanks to its
simple mounting system, acquires and internally analyses information about machine vibration
without the aid of additional equipment. It provides real-time data via an IO-Link interface which
makes it easy to integrate with factory automation systems. Read more here
Amputee bonds with son thanks
to 3D printed bionic hand
For 21 years, Danny Florence has lived with one hand.
But when he became a father, he decided to apply for an
Open Bionics Hero Arm. With the help of the Maxon
driven prosthesis he can now build a strong bond with his
son. Maxon designed and produced the actuator for the
digits in the Hero Arm ― each finger uses a Maxon DCX
12 L motor. The actuator consists of a DC motor driving a
customised gearbox and lead screw and nut. Read more here
