4.0 THE CURRICULUM
4.1 AIM OF THE PROGRAM
1. Encourage the enjoyment of embroidery and encourage everyone to join, whether young
people can learn how to stitch, a talented artist or anyone who just loves textile.
2. Provide locally facilitated experiences for people who want to learn embroidery in a social
group setting.
3. Offer services for those who cannot or may not take interest in local groups or who choose
or wish to change embroidery to a busy lifestyle in the right ways and in the best ways.
4.2 OBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAM
1. To recognize the different material and tools required for the embroidery.
2. To carry out the basic stitches in embroidery (flat, loop, knotted stitches)
3. To develop embroidery skills by learning the types of surface embroidery:
3.1 Crewel embroidery
3.2 Cross stitch embroidery
3.3 Goldwork embroidery
3.4 Stumpwork
3.5 Art needlework
4. To create their own design based on the particular type of embroidery (final project).
4.3 PROGRAM LEARNING OUTCOMES
At the end of the class, the participants should be able to:
1. Identify and list down material and tools required for the embroidery.
2. Produce the 3 basic stitches in embroidery in an excellent way.
3. Perform various types of surface embroidery:
3.1 Crewel embroidery
3.2 Cross stitch embroidery
3.3 Goldwork embroidery
