COURSE INFORMATION (1) - MODULE 1
Name of the course
Introduction to embroidery
Synopsis of the course This module is designed to introduce participants to
embroidery. The first segment the instructor will introduce the
participants to the history and the origin of embroidery. Next,
this segment also introduces the types of fabric used in
embroidery, variety types of embroidery basic stitches and
choosing thread colours for embroidery. The second segment
focuses on tools and materials. The participants will be
introduced to the basic tools and materials in the embroidery
kit that will be provided by the organizer. It includes needle,
threads, hoops and frames, scissors, fabrics, tracing tools and
thimble. The third segment in this module is practicing safety
practices in the use of embroidery tools and equipment. The
participants will learn about first aid kits in embroidery.
Embroidery tools and materials are such that an embroider may
get injured mostly on fingers. It is important to have a basic
first aid kit at the embroidery workplace because injured people
can be treated quickly before getting proper treatment from the
doctor. This module will be given to the participants in a book.
