Name of the course
Basic Stitches
Synopsis of the course This module aims to enhance participants’ understanding and
application of basic stitches. The first segment of this module is
participants will be introduced to the basic preparation of embroidery.
They will be provided with the design instructions and specification
before performing embroidery. In this segment also, they will learn a
variety of ways to transfer an embroidery design on the fabric. The
second segment in this course is where participants will carry out three
types of basic stitches, it includes flat, loop and knotted stitches. In
module 2, there are four subtopics which are:
1. Preparation for Embroidery
2. Carrying out Different types of Stitches - Flat Stitches
3. Carrying out Different types of Stitches - Loop Stitches
4. Carrying out Different types of Stitches - Knotted Stitches
Course Learning Outcomes By the end of this class, the participants should be able to:
1. Interpret design instructions and specifications and transfer
pattern design on an embroidery fabric.
2. Carry out the different techniques of the basic stitches including
flat stitches, loop stitches and knotted stitches.
