Fota Island Christmas Spa Event

There’s never a better time to start Christmas shopping than with a glass of prosecco in hand,
excellent discounts, skincare advice and tips and a chance to win some magnificent prizes all
under the one roof. Enjoy all this and more when the Christmas Spa Event returns to the Fota
Island Spa on Thursday November 22nd with an evening of fashion, skincare and plenty of
prizes to be won.
A prosecco and canapé reception will get the evening off to an excellent start at 7pm in the
festive surroundings of the Fota Island Spa. The ever stylish and super funny James Patrice
will provide an evening of laughs and entertainment as well as talking about his journey with
Operation Transformation and all things fashion.
James will be joined by a host of guest speakers on the night including Kerstin Florian Train-
ing Manager, Jennifer Alexander and guest speakers from Comfort Zone and Vita Liberata who
will all be offering their expert tips and advice on looking after your skin at home. All of the
products will be available to purchase on the night and guests will be able to enjoy exclusive
discounts and special offers on selected products, making Christmas present shopping that
little bit easier this year.
Forget the queues and embrace Christmas cheer with goodie bags, treatment demos and a
whole range of prizes to be won on the night.
The Fota Island Spa Christmas Event is on Thursday, November 22nd from 7pm. Tickets are

2019 SONIA O’SULLIVAN COBH 10 ROAD RACE
We are very excited to announce the 2019 staging of the Sonia O’Sullivan Cobh 10 road race.
This will take place on Sunday April 7th 2019. This is the second year that we have been able
to honour Cobh hero Sonia O’Sullivan with a race in her name.
Last year’s event proved hugely popular selling out for the first time in the Cobh 10’s history.
We were also treated to some of the finest running talent in the country on the day. The win-
ning man was Irish Olympic marathon runner Mick Clohisey in a course record time of 49:23.
The leading women was another Irish Olympian Lizzy Lee with a women’s course record time
of 58:28. These two elite athletes went on to win the Irish National Championships this year
and were both first Irish runners over the line in this year’s Dublin marathon. What better
way to pay tribute to Ireland finest Olympian herself Sonia, with both men’s and women’s
prizes going to our current Olympic stars.
For this year’s event Ballymore AC will again keep up the links to cancer charities with this
year’s beneficiary being the wonderful “Breakthrough Cancer Research”. This amazing or-
ganisation are researching most of the difficult cancers that as we all know can wreak havoc
on our society and families and all this work is done right here in Cork. This company both
performs and funds world class cancer research into poor prognosis cancer, facilitate col-
laboration between scientists and clinicians across Ireland and abroad and are translating lab
discoveries into new effective treatments for cancer patients today. Using this approach, they
have made 250 novel discoveries and have delivered 6 new treatments for cancer patients.

We at Ballymore AC are very happy to be contributing to this fantastic organisation.
Entries for next year’s race go on sale on Monday November 19th at 9am.

This race sold out in 2018 so is very likely to do the same this time. As a result there will be
no sign on option on the day so all interested in taking part in this great event are encour-
aged to sign up online early to avoid disappointment.
