Jackie’s Cruise News
I often get asked when is the best time to book a Cruise and my honest answer is the earlier
the better. Most of the Cruise lines run campaigns through-
out the year so it can be a case of one Cruise line will be a lot
cheaper than others at different stages. And of course Cruise
prices can vary from week to week, especially with the larger
International Cruise lines who are working off different cur-
rencies worldwide. With Cruises now on Sale for 2020 already
because of the demand, it is great for you, the consumer to be
able to plan and pay off in instalments.
At the moment there are Free Flights campaigns out with Prin-
cess Cruises, whose ships have been a regular sight in Cobh
, with 7 night Med prices starting at €976 pp incl flights for
2019. Then another favourite Royal Caribbean have the Free
onboard credit of up to €1000 to spend as you please. And of
course Cruise and Maritime who have sailings from Cobh and Dublin are already on Sale for
2019 and 2020 with their Buy One Get One half price. People have different tastes and what
one person loves about a Cruise ship, others will not so it’s about finding the right ship and
Cruise line that will suit your needs.
There’s always a great Cruise deal to be had so feel free to contact me if you need guidance
or just advice on which is the right ship for you.

Christmas in Cobh 2018
Christmas in Cobh begins on Sunday 25th November with an afternoon of Christmas Cheer
followed by the switching on of the Cobh Christmas Lights.
From 2pm to 4.30pm Santa Claus will greet children in the Jack Doyle Suite of the Commo-
dore Hotel, have a short chat with them and pose for photographs. Professional photographs
may be purchased from Cork Photography & Photobooth Hire or people may take their own
photos if they wish.
Elf Ken’s Christmas village, Free Arts and Crafts activities with Glorious Arts and Crafts, Face
Painting and storytelling will also keep children entertained in the Commodore Hotel.
From 4.15 pm complimentary Hot Chocolate will be available in the town centre for children
with a voucher available during the activities in the Commodore Hotel.
The children’s torch lit procession has become a huge favourite in the build up to the switch-
ing on of the Christmas Lights. This year the parade will leave from Cobh Heritage Centre at
4.50 pm and will travel along the town to the Christmas tree where the lights will be switched
on by one lucky child. This child will be the winner of an art competition organised by Cobh
and Harbour Chamber.
The whole afternoon’s activities are a coming together of community and businesses to show
Cobh at its best. The Christmas Lights are erected by Cobh and Harbour Chamber with sup-
port from the Cobh Municipal District. This is the 11th year that See You in Cobh are organis-
ing a Christmas in Cobh event to coincide with the switching on of the Cobh Christmas Lights
and these events are also supported by Cork County Council. Please come along and be a
part of this fantastic festive Community event in the centre of Cobh.
