Christmas Carols at Fota House with Cappella Lyrica
Fota House & Gardens is delighted to welcome Cappella Lyrica to our beautiful Drawing Room
for our annual Christmas concert. This award winning choir is an equal-voice group from the
full-time Music, Pop and Drama programmes at the CIT Cork School of Music.
Our annual Christmas music celebration will feature seasonal and traditional favourites, with
solo and small group performances featuring traditional Irish instruments; for music lovers of
all ages!
In competitive performances, Cappella Lyrica has been successful in winning first place at both
the Cork International and City of Derry International Choral Festivals and also at the Limerick
Church Music Festival.
Capella Lyrica have established a relationship with new music in the commissioning of com-
posers David Wallace, Marian Ingoldsby and Séan Doherty to write for the Choir, as well as
regularly featuring the compositions of established and emerging Irish composers in their pro-
grammes. The concert will feature a premier performance of a work, Epiphany, commissioned
by Séan Doherty in 2018.
The Choir are under the direction of Maria Judge and their rehearsal accompanist is Deirdre

Saturday 1st December, doors 17:30, concert 18:00, interval 18:40. Tickets €20 include park-
