Sorrento Takeaway Cobh nominated in Food Awards of Ireland 2018

    Having won the title of ‘Best Chips in Cork’ with lovin.ie earlier this year Sorrento Takeaway
    Cobh has now been nominated for ‘Best Fish ‘N’ Chips’ takeaway in Ireland in The Food Awards
    Ireland 2018.

    The Food Awards Ireland are on their third year and
    come back to acknowledge once more the best serv-
    ers, suppliers, producers and chefs amongst oth-
    ers that contribute to making the food industry as
    palatable as possible. After nominations flood in from
    across Ireland, the full list with finalists has now been
    complied.
    The black-tie event will take place at the Crowne Plaza
    Hotel in Dublin, on Monday 12th November, when the
    best of the Irish Food industry will gather for a memo-
    rable night to celebrate the efforts, hard work and
    achievements of professionals and businesses that
    operate in this sector.

    The awards will thank those who are committed to al-
    ways providing the Irish communities and homes with
    the freshest of products and tastes.
    They will also reward meritorious restaurants, takeaways, pubs, hotel restaurants, cafes and
    bistros, as well as those who help us to explore new flavours and cuisines from different cul-
    tures.
    Sorrento Takeaway Cobh is one of the finalists in the Best Fish ‘N’ Chips category. Sorrento’s
    will find out if they will be crowned winner and will take the trophy home at the elegant cer-
    emony held on November 12th.
    Speaking on the back of the nomination Sorrento’s said “We are delighted to have been
    nominated by our customers for these awards. It really means a lot to us. We always try and
    provide our customers with the freshest and best of food and love seeing our customers come
    in to us. It came as a surprise to be nominated as we weren’t even aware a nomination proce-
    dure was open for the awards – but that’s why we have the best customers in Ireland!”
    A Spokesperson for the Food Awards Ireland 2018 said:” The Food Awards Ireland have
    become a stable event over the years and we aim to continue showcasing and awarding the
    protagonists of the industry who have dedicated their career in providing us with great gastro-
    nomic delights.
    “There are many professionals in Ireland that deserve recognition for their impeccable servic-
    es, talent and professionalism but they often remain un-noticed. This year we aim to showcase
    and honor those who although are overshadowed, do their best to meet their costumers’ needs
    and standards.
    “We must say that the competition is really tough this year but we would like to wish to our
    finalists the best of luck.”

    The other finalists in the category are C F Lennox, Quinlan’s Seafood Bar, Killarney, Monte
    Carlo Take Away, The Saltee Chipper, Jackie Lennox Chip Shop, Fish Shop, Beshoff Bros Howth,
    Luigi’s Fish & Chips, Quinlans Fish Shops and Seafood Bars.
