A Cobh Tidy Towns Thank You

As another calendar year comes to an end for Cobh Tidy Towns, we are full of
gratitude for all the goodwill and support from the Cobh community. Cobh’s 5th
Gold Medal in the National Tidy Towns competition is due to a collective effort to
make our town an even better place to live in, work in and to visit. Thank you to all
who have played a part especially Cobh Credit Union, Cork County Council, Com-
modore Hotel, Bella Vista Hotel, Doyle Shipping Group, John Walsh Group, Port of
Cork, A+Fitness, Butlers Buses, the Probation Service, Cobh Youth & Social Projects
CE Scheme and Community groups Cobh Zero Waste, Cobh Junior Park Run, Clean
Coast Cobh, Save Our Swifts Cobh, Green Schools, Cuskinny Marsh Nature Reserve,
numerous Residents Associations, Gaisce students, Cobh Pirates, Cobh Triathlon
    Club and Ballymore Cobh A.C.
Thank you to those who pick one piece of stray litter when they are out and about
as well as our Area Adopters and businesses who keep their spot clean and bright.
We appreciate the ongoing work by Cork County Council outdoor staff, Councillors
and indoor staff working with us to ensure standards are maintained in Cobh. Thank
you to the people of Cobh for your commitment in helping Cobh improve year after
    year.

What can we say about our volunteers who work away behind the scenes coordinat-
ing projects and all who show up every Saturday and at other times to treasure our
town? The 2019 adjudicator said “Among the towns residents are busy people who
are not on their holidays, but still find a huge amount of selfless time and energy to
commit as Tidy Towns volunteers to present Cobh to such a wonderful standard for
both the economic prosperity and enjoyment of so many. You are an inspiration to
    the competition.”

Thank you everyone. This is your Gold Medal. Here’s to an exciting 2020.
