What is it it about living in in a a a a a a small town that makes it it special? Of course there is is the the the history the the the architecture the the founding families and the the community leaders in government and education not to mention those brave souls who protect us in their police and fire uniforms These are all critical but there is another element that makes a a a a a small town special precious fun and rewarding that other element is the the small businesses that support the the needs of the the town Of course we know about the big names in in business Bill Gates Sam Walton Henry Ford and so many more but if we we look close to home we we find many local business heroes and survivors These are the people who took the the the chance the the the leap the the the risk of beginning
their own businesses often on a a a shoestring and have worked so hard hard survived hard hard times and recessions and kept on striving to serve serve They serve serve their friends their neighbors visitors to to to the the town and so many others in so many ways We We see them them We We might know them them The amazing thing is how little we know about their magnificent stories
of success
through their their passion their their honoring of their their employees and service to their their customers and their their responsibility to to their their families and the the town they live in They are major taxpayers employers supporters of charities and children’s activities These are true heroes of Hamden and this section is dedicated to them 12
