Dance
What a day, what an amazing day. He couldn't be more proud.
The isles lined with white daises and the fragrance of spring
flowers wafted throughout the room. Lavender peddles falling
from delicate little hands paved the path on the pure white
runner. Friends and family filled the pews and anxious silence
was in order.
Rays of sunshine cascading through the ornate stained glass
at the back of the chapel prepared her entrance. And there
she was, in amazing glory. A bride to one, a princess to
another, cherished by both. The awkward moments from days
gone by were but silly memories of courtship and embraced
the journey leading to this moment.
Holding her close, she’s a grown woman, but the visions of a
little girl in a crooked tiara with a smudge of blue around her
eyes fill his thoughts. A gentle kiss on her delicate cheek, and
he places her hand in his. He steps back, and breaths deeply.
A quiet tear caresses his face, descending, tracing the crease
framing his grin. His masculine arms, strong and gentle, firm
and kind, now empty, hanging close to his sides. Yearning to
hold his little princess…
