Page 17 - Dance
P. 17
The walls were adorned with deep grains of dark woods and
the arched ceiling opposed the marble floors. In the middle of
the room, hanging high overhead, an immaculate crystal
chandelier. Sprays of spring flowers adorned each table and
energy of abounding joy filled the air.
Though he made his way to every table and to every guest,
his attention was never far from her direction. From the
moments he never wanted to forget. The finest meal was
served and in the background, lovely music was playing… a
harp and a violin.
The lights softly dimmed and the crowd came to silence. The
harp began to play accompanied by the violin. He stood in the
corner, quietly watching as the young man held her hand and
led her to the middle of the room, directly under the crystal
chandelier. They embraced, they danced…
For a moment they were lost in the emotion, when into focus
he notices her father off in the corner. Taking her hand, he
guides her across the room to the corner where he stood so
proud, “Sir, would you please have this dance?”
